about us
We are Mick and Lisa Beirne.
We moved to the beautiful Charente in July 2003 and can't imagine ever leaving!! We have 3 daughters aged 15, 13 and 11, who immediately settled into local schools. They were soon speaking fluent french and still regularly correct us on our grammar!!!
For 5 years Mick worked as an immobilier and during that time he learnt a lot about the french property market. He was able to build up a directory of tradesmen and artisans and has overseen works for several clients who bought second homes.
With the downturn in the market, we have had to rethink our plans and Cognac Keyholding was born. We already looked after a couple of properties on a much smaller scale (grass cutting, emptying mail boxes etc) so it made perfect sense to expand our service. We both speak fluent French so liasing with artisans or the authorities poses no problems.
Our aim is to make your life easier - so that when you arrive for your well earned holiday, you do not need to spend the first 2 or 3 days gardening and cleaning. If you want to earn an income from your property then we can help too - just call us for an informal chat!
